Classes are small for individual attention.
Weekly lessons: $15 per lesson -- $60 for 4 consecutive weeks (supplies included).
You may have private lessons, a single workshop or group of your own.

Private Art Lessons & Workshops
Linda will prepare a custom class for you with the lesson topics of your choice.
No prior drawing skills are needed. Fun and educational for for all levels. Beginners and advanced artists progress at your own pace. Work in a realistic or loosely expressive style w/your favorite media.
“Art Appreciation with Drawing & Painting ”
Learn and discuss the qualities in the great works of art, then, create fun mini-masterpieces of your own, suitable to frame.
“Depth & Dimension”
Learn the basics of achieving the illusion of depth. Sharpen your observation skills: important steps to bring out the artist within. Included: demonstrations and individual attention with right brain drawing. You will learn how to make all types of art look more 3-dimensional, whether it is realistic or abstract. This opens the door to confidently drawing and painting anything that comes your way.
"Color Workshop"
This workshop will help you add radiance to anything that involves color.
Learn color schemes and the subliminal effects of color for art, fashion, gardens and interior design. Learn how to create harmonious colors and how to use complimentary colors to enhance depth and achieve color balance like the Impressionists. Learn to use simple color schemes from famous paintings to achieve special effects in your own art and projects.
Optional: Bring a current project to work on or discuss.

“Collage/Mixed Media...Composition & Design"

This is a fun and expressive class.
In this class you will learn about the dynamic effects of art and design while working with various media and collage. Have fun experimenting and creating art to stimulate personal creativity and to enhance your home with desired effects. You will strengthen the impact of your realistic & abstract art. Learn the attributes of your own unique style and how to add drama …and pizzazz…to any project. Play with color and value, contrast and focal point, pattern and texture. Learn 10 compositional styles, and how our culture uses color and design to influence our thinking. Class content comes from environmental psychology, feng shui, subliminal effects of color & design, and Old Master paintings.
Materials list: For collage: Bring scissors, glue or acrylic matte medium (with a ¾” or 1” brush, paper cups), 140 lb cold press watercolor paper (any brand: approx. 12” x 16” or larger) or matt boards, rags, plastic to cover table (large trash bag will do), assorted colored anddecorative paper of any kind, colored tissue paper, wrapping paper, fabric, lace, photos, greeting cards, magazines, etc. You may bring a favorite media: pastels, watercolor, charcoal, Prismacolor pencils, with suitable paper for several studies. You may bring a current project to work on or discuss.
“Drawing and Painting in the Gardens--En Plein Air" ( in open air)
At Quail Botanical Gardens or your own yard.
Relax and have fun drawing and painting in the lush gardens. Linda will guide you to work in a realistic, impressionistic or expressive style of your own. Learn composition for well-balanced art. Learn color harmony and value contrast to create a sense of atmosphere. Learn to create depth with perspective. Our subjects will be flowers, trees, waterfalls, water lilies, garden paths and whatever strikes your interest in the gardens. To increase our understanding, we will do a few short excercises, then, proceed to enjoy drawing and painting in the gardens “en plein-air.”
Materials list: Bring soft pencils: #2 writing pencils, or several soft drawing pencils such as 3B, 4B, or charcoal. A sketch pad : 9x12 or larger, whatever size is comfortable for you. Eraser, ruler, blending stub (optional). You may work solely in pencil. If you wish, bring an additional media, such as pastels, watercolor, colored pencils, acrylics, oils with suitable surfaces for the media. Bring lunch, drink, visor, dress for cool-to-warm weather.
